A high speed low drag plate carrier that eliminates the need to deal with all the fussy Velcro! Here's my "everythig but the obvious" review of the YAKEDA 1000D quick release plate carrier.
Made from the heavy duty and industry leading 1000 Denier Cordura nylon, the carrier hosts a laser cut MOLLE platform which eliminates the material fraying issue around traditionally stiched mounting seams.
While featuring a 4 point quick detatch system for lightning fast ready speeds, the system also includes a low profile MOLLE topped deep well mag pouch which attaches to the carrier via a dual buckle attachment and a Velcro backing. Each side of the cumberbund has 4 intrgrated mag pouches and is made from a self adjusting sretchable fabric to ensure a snug and secure fit. While only the front and back of the carrier will accept plates (offering 180 degrees of protection), loading the cumberbund pouches with mags and accessories will provide enhanced protection around your sides. The front mounted mag puch along with the expandable cumberbund pockets will accomodate your standard M4, G36, and AK mags along with side by side loaded HI-CAPA pistol and MP5 mags.
The whole system is adjustable for both drop height and width accommodating waists 29in - 49in. I'm 6'0, 216lbs and the carrier fit me well without having to "let out" any of the adjustability as there was room to spare for us bigger guys.
The system will accept medium SAPI plates or in my case for airsoft, 2 layers of EVA foam with a cardboard shell. The plate channels measure 13in tall x 10in wide tapering to 5in at the neck. Traditional 12.5in x 9.5in plates will fit best from the offerings I've researched but shorter plates will also work due to the interior strapping adjustability.
Compared to simillarly priced carriers available on the market, the YAKEDA 1000D is a rock solid contender offering new cutting edge technologies at an affordable price. I'm not worried about it fraying to bits after some hard use and the materials are more than capable to holding the weight of my loadouts secure in place. The best quality I’ve seen yet. But the vest is a little small. I’m 5’7 190lbs. I had a friend fit it, they’re 5’5 130lbs and it seems to fit them perfectly.
Molle feature allows me to attach my big medical kit right above the mag pouches. Harness is fully expandable to allow this to be worn over your plate carrier and outerwear, keeping gear immediately accessible.
Pour l’instant je n’ai rien eu qui est déchiré. Ça tient bien, les passants molle sont solides, c’est un bon rapport qualité prix. Je ne voulais pas mettre trop cher dans une housse de gilet pare-balle. Très fonctionnel.
Without a doubt this carries & feels the best out of several vets I’ve used . Fits well & dose not ride up , Velcro is very well made and sown on stitching has not frayed .
I’ve used this carrier for a few weeks now with level 3 a soft armor and it looks to me like I’m going to have the vest for quite a while
